Steamed Fish Recipe with Tasty Light Sauce
The light sauce in this fish recipe helps make this dish more appetising to people who dislike steamed fish for fear of blandness or fishiness. As you might know, steamed fish is healthier than pan-fried or deep fried ones. So, try this healthy food recipe! Other than cod fish, you can use other white fish fillets like threadfin or red grouper.
Food Ingredients (Serve 4): 500g cod fish or other white fish fillet Salt for marinating 4 slices ginger 2 stalks spring onion, chopped 2 stalks Chinese parsley, chopped
Sauce: 1/4 tsp soy sauce 1/4 tsp oyster sauce 1/4 tsp sesame oil 1 pinch sugar 2 slices ginger 3 tbsp water
Cooking Direction:
1. Gently rub some salt onto the fillet and marinate for at least 15 minutes.
2. Place ginger, spring onion and parsley on top of the fillet and steam for about 10 minutes until cooked. Steaming time will vary depending on the thickness of the fillet. Do not over-cook as the meat will become harder and drier.
3. Mix all sauce ingredients together in a bowl. Bring to boil in a saucepan when steamed fillet is almost ready.
4. Pour sauce onto cooked fillet.
5. Serve hot.
Cooking Tip:
To cook steamed fish, remember to use fresh fish to minimise the fishy smell.
