Steamed Cod Fish

Cod fish is light and nutritious. The ingredients in below recipe help enhance the taste, fragrant and colour of the steamed fillet, making it more appetising.

You can replace the fillet with other white fish variety like threadfin too.

This dish is very easy to prepare and quick to serve. Just chop and add all the ingredients to the fillet and you can eat it straight after steaming.

Food Ingredients (Serve 2):
250g fresh white fish fillet like cod or threadfin
Salt for marinating
3 slices ginger, shredded
1 stalk spring onion, chopped
2 stalks Chinese parsley, chopped
Few slices big red chilli
1 small tomato, quartered
Few dashes white pepper

Direction for this Easy Cooking Recipe:

Gently rub some salt onto the fillet and marinate for at least 15 minutes while you cut the other ingredients.

Sprinkle chopped ginger, spring onion, Chinese parsley, chilli and few dashes of white pepper on top of fillet. Place quartered tomato at side of dish.

Steam for about 10 minutes. Vary the steaming time based on the thickness of the fillet. To check whether cooked, simply poke a chopstick through the middle of the fillet. If it goes through to the bottom smoothly, it is cooked.

Serve hot.
